GIRLS ACTION NETWORK® SPEAKERS BUREAU PARTNERS WITH STEPPINGSTONE SCHOLARS FOR FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES DAY

New York, NY – Girls Action Network, Inc. (“GAN”) kicked-off its Speakers Bureau operations through a partnership with Steppingstone Scholars, Inc. on April 5th, 2008 at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. The theme of the Support Services Day event was centered on GAN’s trademark slogan, Shattering Stereotypes & Unlocking Opportunities®, with this event’s focus on Transforming Tools for Today’s Success. Over 400 families and students were invited to participate in the various panel discussions and workshops that were conducted from 10:00 am until 2:30 pm. GAN provided over fifty-percent of the event’s speakers to include: Alycia Banks, Elisa Basnight, Lisa Charles, Ileana Griffiths, Yolanda Grimes, Mary Ann Jackson, and Lori Tharps.

Girls Action Network Salutes Mt. Holyoke College 2007 Scholarship Recipients

New York, NY – August 15, 2007, Rolande William and Tangiah Royster, both residents of Newark, New Jersey returned from Hadley, Massachusetts having completed their respective summer enrichment programs at Mount Holyoke women’s college. During their respective summer experiences, Rolande and Tangiah had unique opportunities to participate in innovative curricula in mathematics. Their programs also worked to strengthen their resolve in mathematical thinking, communications skills, problem solving strategies and computer skills.
