The Girls Action Network® Summer STEM Enrichment Program (GAN SSEP)
- Established in partnership with Smith College in 2004, the GAN SSEP
- Provides opportunities and scholarships for girls from historically underserved communities to attend summer programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
- Promotes cultural awareness and appreciation
- Builds confidence, connecting girls with other girls exploring their passions in STEM
The Smith College Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP)
- A 4-week immersive summer program for exceptional high school students with strong interests in science and engineering
- Emphasizes asking questions and learning by doing, engaging students in hands-on research with Smith faculty
2024 – NOW CLOSED: The GAN SSEP Scholarship to the Smith College Summer Science and Engineering Program
- Application Deadline: March 3, 2024
- Program Dates: July 6-19; July 21-August 3, 2024
- Eligibility:
- Female-identified and gender-non-conforming students entering grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 in fall 2024
- Ability to attend GAN Career Exploration (virtual)

- Application Process:
- Step 1: Complete the Smith College Summer Science and Engineering Program application and submit all required application materials by the program deadline of March 3, 2024

- Step 2: Complete the GAN SSEP Application by March 3, 2024 – Closed

- All GAN SSEP applicants must complete the financial aid section of the application in order to be considered for the GAN SSEP scholarship. GAN scholarships are based on need and merit.
- Step 3: If accepted into Smith College SSEP, the GAN scholarship applicants will participate in an interview with the Girls Action Network scholarship committee members
- Step 4: GAN awards SSEP Scholarship
- Step 1: Complete the Smith College Summer Science and Engineering Program application and submit all required application materials by the program deadline of March 3, 2024
